In this episode, The Talk Guys discuss the recent visit by Governor Ron Desantis to the great Iowa State Fair for a "fireside chat" with Governor Kim Reynolds. Former President Donald Trump visited as well, but not for a friendly chat with the governors. The politicians also visited the coveted annual Cy-Hawk college football game between in-state rivals University of Iowa and Iowa State University. While discussing the subject of governors, The Talk Guys bring up New Mexico Chief Psycho Governor Michelle Grisham and how she used an emergency declaration to "fight gun crime" by criminalizing the law-abiding citizens of Albuquerque, New Mexico and violating their constitutional rights. The Talk Guys bring an update about the developing situation in the West African nation of Niger and the possibility of another stupid reaction from the West in concordance with the long list of other stupid endeavors involving no-win wars, assassinated leaders, toppled governments, and good ol’ times.

#70 Maui Fires, Water Wars, Land Grabs & Government First Response: An Insolvent Equation

On this show, Teepee and Theo discuss the Lahaina, Maui wildfires of August 8, 2023. Among one of the deadliest fires in U.S. history and certainly in the history of Hawaii. Why was water not released in time to be used by firefighters? Why were emergency and tsunami alarms not sounded by the Hawaiian Emergency Management Agency? The incompetence of the Maui officials response to the emergency is mind-boggling, and the responses they have given for their negligence are even more mind-boggling. Reports have come out that roads were blocked, causing more Hawaiians to perish in the flames. One Maui resident, a lawyer, bugged out of her house with "Water Permit Applications" along with clothing as she was fleeing, knowing the paperwork would be incredibly important because Maui has a history of water being directed by officials to please the tourist industries, instead of being used for the people. Some Maui residents wonder if the emergency is being exploited by the wealthy and well-connected to grab water and land. Would it be so hard to imagine a case of disaster capitalism? The Talk Guys also discuss the Maui police chief, who is no stranger to tragedy. Sleepy Joe showed up after his vacation was over, and his speech to the people of Maui is very moving and from the heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected people in Hawaii.

The international criminal network behind these climate action plans continues to use propaganda to try and convince people that if the citizens of the world don’t stop consuming meat and dairy while giving up cars and travel involving short-haul flights, the world will end in a matter of months, much like they’ve been saying since the 1970s. 14 American cities are on this list (thankfully none in Iowa), including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami, Seattle, and Portland, just to name a few of the usual suspects. Once again, elites like former NYC Mayor Bloomberg, who is funding part of this plan, know what’s best for the peasants. While having zero intent on practicing what they preach.

The Talk Guys read an open letter from a top enlisted Air Force member that addresses some issues that she believes are weakening our military. We go over recruiting numbers and discuss how much money and military equipment have been sent to Ukraine, the size of our Navel fleet, the cost of renaming military bases across the US, and the concern of the military’s carbon footprint.

The Talk Guys also discuss the Trump indictment for ‘trying to overturn the 2020 election’ and how politics feels more like reality television at this point, and we the people are not amused.
